A DMC with a strong presence, but no conversion

Tropical Incentives it's a Destination Management Company based in Cancún, specializing in corporate events, conferences, and incentive travel in Mexico and the Caribbean. My role as a UX/UI intern was to lead the redesign of their website under a three-month contract.

The challenge: The existing website failed to convey the quality and scale of the company’s operations, and the disjointed contact and quote processes drove away high-value customers before they could convert.

  • Strategy & Redesign full UX/UI
  • High-fidelity prototyping of key pages in Figma
  • Landing Page Optimization for Conversion
  • Aligning brand identity with the user interface

Tropical, but corporate

The color palette reinforces the brand's positioning: navy conveys professionalism and authority to the B2B audience; gold evokes luxury, sunshine, and the promise of the Caribbean without resorting to visual clichés.

  • Serif typeface for headlines — authority and elegance
  • Sans serif with a neutral body — legibility in forms and catalogs
  • Modular layouts with a focus on property imagery
  • “Request a Quote” CTA on every main hub

Landing pages that convert

Each anchor property (resorts, venues, experiences) received a dedicated template. The layout prioritizes imagery, benefits for the planner, and a prominent call-to-action leading to the quote form..

The goal: to enable a corporate planner and a client or guest to evaluate options, capture value, and request a proposal without leaving the page.

Learnings

Working at an active DMC forced me to apply UX theory to a real business with sales, proposals, and corporate accounts on the line.

  • B2B research requires very specific people—not generic ones
  • Visual consistency between marketing and the product is important for building trust
  • Each CTA should correspond to a specific step in the sales process
  • Iterating quickly with the marketing team speeds up validation

Deliverables

  • UX Audit and Benchmark of the Previous Site
  • 3 user personas + a journey map of the sales process
  • Wireframes and comprehensive information architecture
  • Navigable hi-fi prototype in Figma (desktop)
  • Templates for hotels landing pages
  • Visual guide aligned with the brand system
